After spending a week in one of the most cleanest countries in the world (Singapore), I was surprised to find the hub of it's neighboring country Malaysia to be quite different. A day of Ā instinctual wanderlust turned into an immersion of KL's graffiti culture. An appropriate way to spend my own country's Independence Day in Kuala Lumpur.

On a bus ride home on a rainy day in Beijing & in a dark concert hall where chinese acrobats moved to the music, I snapped these shots. I wish you were here.

coming to america

Every single one of my mother's side of the family live abroad. Because of that, my mother would always send updates of her progress in waves of photos and polaroids which her family kept. I was able to peruse through them this past week and was amazed by this life about my mom I never knew: old b&w photos from her childhood, her day as a beauty queen, & shots from her school life in Manila. My favorite shot is the one which lays in the header, which is my mother's last day in the Philippines before she set off to America to start her 'new' life beginning in Alabama.

I've known my friend Randy & his family for a long time. We were next door neighbors, alongside each other for most of our formative school years, and played together during many basketball seasons growing up. This week I got to spend the week with him and his extended family. They welcomed me with ease and was extremely accommodating. Thank you for the warm hospitality, good food, and fun adventures.
