I’ve known my friend Randy & his family for a long time. We were next door neighbors, alongside each other for most of our formative school years, and played together during many basketball seasons growing up. This week I got to spend the week with him and his extended family. They welcomed me with ease and was extremely accommodating. Thank you for the warm hospitality, good food, and fun adventures.

Been spending time with my neice’s family in ParaƱaque, Manila. Today we threw a birthday celebration for her goddaughter, Ujai. I was assigned as head chef making the coming-of-age classics: spaghetti & fried chicken.
calm. cool. collective.
A bit hidden in the cuts of Makati’s San Antonio Village, I was introduced to The Collective- an open area warehouse filled with galleries, boutique and specialty shops, art studios, and a lounge surrounded by open space where graffiti crews and artists plaster the walls with doodles and tags. My friend Val was on point with the recommendation as I was introduced to Manila’s young and artsy nightlife. I felt like I was back in LA hearing dubstep coming out the speakers, but this time the dj’s were inside of an ice cream truck housed in the middle of the warehouse space.
